Despite Councillor Becky Posnett and the Conservative Group voting against the Green Bin Tax, the request to have this decision referred to full council for reconsideration was refused by the Labour led Council.
Council Tax is already high enough, and residents are now being taxed even more.
There is deep concern across our rural communities that this unnecessary tax will increase fly tipping.
The Conservative members of Environment and Communities Committee which Councillor Becky Posnett sits on, felt they were not given any alternative options because the decision to charge for green bin collections had already been been 'Baked In' to the medium term financial strategy - voted for by the Labour led Council.
