Following the cancellation of this year’s London Marathon, Edward Timpson has decided to bring the challenge to Eddisbury by walking 26.2 miles along Cheshire’s Sandstone Trail.
With the aim of raising money and spreading awareness for the charities Home-Start Cheshire and St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice, Edward, along with his wife Julia, will be attempting the feat on Sunday 4th October.
St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice is a fantastic charity that has provided palliative care in Cheshire since 1988. Located in Winsford, the Hospice looked after over 1,000 patients last year, whilst relying on donations for nearly 85% of its funding. In light of this, Edward is hoping to raise as much money as possible to help them continue their invaluable work.
Home-Start Cheshire, with the help of its volunteers, aims to provide struggling parents across the county with emotional and practical support. The local charity, of which Edward is a patron, was set up in 1998 in order to provide parents with invaluable advice.
Edward is encouraging others to complete their own challenges on the same day with the hope of raising as much money as possible for these worthwhile causes. This could come in the form of a walk or run, or really any challenge of your own that you can come up with!
